Okay so I just got the newest version of facebook and turned off notifications, yet I still get them. I tried battery pulls, deleting and downloading again. Nothing worked.

what I do and always works is...
Activate and save, then open again and desavtivate and save. Then do that again one more time and the last time should be desactivate notifications.
Then make sure all three checkmarks are OFF and save that too.
