Im glad to represent a new simple application from our developers EveryHour.
EveryHour is a simple and cool application that notifies BlackBerry owner about clock event: hour event. EveryHour uses sound notifications to notify about the event. User can choose one of predefined sound, choose volume and other settings.
Main features are:
- Every hour sound notifications
- Customize active period (from and to intervals)
- Customize sounds for notification
- Set volume
- Set active on weekend option
EveryHour now in BETA, so some of new features will be implemented soon.
It should be support own files (sound files) and device profiles support
Now you can try the BETA from our web site: berryblow.com/everyhour.html
or use wap.berryblow to download directly from the device
Supported devices: OS 4.2 and higher (4.2.x, 4.3.x, 4.5.x, 4.6.x, 4.7.x)
Some clocks have such feature - notify every hour with sound notification.
Now you have this feature in your BlackBerry.
Now you "hear every hour", for some reason it can be useful
For example: you're waiting for 8.00 to go to work, instead of check your clock, u can hear a sound notification from your BlackBerry...
I don't really have a need for this app, but reading the post made me think of a grandfather clock. If you could add features where it would 'chime' at 1/4 hour intervals and 'bong' the number of hours on the hour, I might consider it! For me it would be more of a novelty, but maybe worth the memory space on my pearl if well implemented.

That would be absolutely useless, yet cool as Eskimo poo!
Today version 0.92 is released. Weve implemented your suggestions
cuckoo and clock chime notifications. So now EveryHour notifies multi sound
notifications (a number of hours). So, you should to try, it cool
Release changes:
- two types of notifications - single tone and multi tone, in multi tone mode there are two types
of sound - cuckoo and clock chime
- add menu command test sound to the main menu
- some fixes
Downloaded and working as advertised! As was said before, cool as penguin poo!
A little heavy on memory usage at around 230 kb for a novelty app on a pearl but I think I'll try keeping it for a while.
Might even be more fun if we could have selectable alert frequency (1 hour, .5 hour and .25 hour) with user selectable tones for each (e.g. Pick from ringtones or mp3s)
You guys were quick with this revision. Up for another?
Anyway, cool app.

Thanks for the feedback,
our plans are:
- support selection of own mp3 files
- telling number of hours
- may be selectable alerts, will see
Nice app. For those of that live with our BB's on our office desk and office refer to it for time rather than simply looking at the PC....this is great! hahha. NO, seriously, I do that. But shhhh don't tell anyone.

Quick question. Once the tone is sounding is there anyway to silence it, physically? Such as hitting a key. The only way I've seen so far is to quickly go in and disable.

ok, have tried the app, and really enjoy it, as a paramedic its really easy for the hours to fly by and its nice to have a general idea of how much time is passing without physically looking. I second the idea of having a certain sound for the hour and then another "chime" maybe for every quarter hour. Would be great! Only other thing and dont know if anyone else has this problem, but on my BB the sound will play on the hour and then again 1 minutes later, i.e. sound at 1200 and then again at 1201, not a huge deal, just a little irritating, other than that good app, thanks for the work!
