I have been having trouble using google maps. It appears that it will stop working if I am on my home network (sprint) and then drive somewhere and my phone switches to a roaming network (like verizon), it will stop loading the map. Is this what is happening? If I am on sprint and switch to verizon roaming will I get 2G data or no data at all?

Check your Mobile Network setting.. If you have it set to While Roaming = Off, then obviously you will get no data and therefore your google maps will not work.
