I'm having to replace my blackberry and was told the I could not save anything other than media. I would love to save things like messages and contacts or bookmarks and things, and was told I need a DM or 3rd party backup app. Don't know what a DM is and does anybody have or can point me where to go for either. And is that what I need to do? Any other options too?

DM is the desktop manager and can be downloaded from the blackberry website. After installation, click on the DM icon and then select the backup and restore icon to do a backup of your device.

As for doing a backup of your 3rd party apps, the process is in the following link.

You can also use the device switch wizard in DM to transfer from one device to the other.
