I have had my curve 8900 since last August. Within the last couple of months I have been trying to install new apps from Blackberry App world and from Crackberry but when I reboot the phone I get the scrren of death 552 error.

This means that I have to reload the OS and all my blackberry and 3rd party apps.

Has anyone else had a similar problem. Rogers has been great since I am on my 3rd replacement phone. I have tried explaining the problem to the help desk but we can`t seem get a resolution other than a new phone.

don't send it back... for a 4th replacement.
did you backup your apps/phone?
if so, wipe it clean and start fresh
5.0.681 is pretty solid

I regularly back up my phone with desktop mamager and the 3rd party apps with BBSAK. The main problem is that ROGERS doesn't support V5.0 yet and they won't tell me when they will. I know that blackberry.com is advertising V5.0 for curve 8900 but ROGERS ?????

You can install any OS even if it is not released by your carrier ( Rogers ). All you need to do is to delete a file called Vendor.xml after installing the OS on your PC

I installed V5.0.0.681 on my curve and all is well.
