The BBDimension themes are the basis for many more elaborate themes. If you delete a BBDimension theme, you break any themes that depend it. That's what happened in your case.

I'm running Vista 64 Bit and .90 Storm OS.
After typing the Storm password it will tell me password incorrect, I did try like 8 times and my password is only numbers and 4 digits. Really easy password...

Is there anything else I can do do pass this error since my password is correct?

One easy mistake is to switch numlock or capslock. For example, you meant to type 1234asdf and instead typed !@#$ASDF due to capslock. Unfortunately, with only two tries left, you may not be able to fix it. After the 10th wrong answer, your Storm will wipe all your personal data. There's no way to prevent it, or stop it once it starts. All you can do then is restore from your most recent backup.

My password is only numbers (2109) and I did try on other computerr (XP 32bit) and I was able to get it to work no problem. I wonder, Is there a issue with the 64 bit on probably just a mistake in my end?

    I don't think it's a 64-bit issue. Here's Pete's note from the OP:
    Operating Systems Supported
CrackUtil has been tested on Microsoft Windows XP (Home and Professional), Microsoft Vista Home Premium and a version of Microsoft Vista 64 bit.

This is strange, CrackUtil was developed under Vista 64bit. I know the developer tested the password because he called me for instructions on how to set it on the phone.

As a work around, may I suggest that you remove the password from your phone temporarily whilst you use CrackUtil. Maybe this will throw some light on the problem or maybe it will allow you to use the program without a password. I would be interested to hear what happens.

I did try without a password on my phone and I got the same error, that's when went to the XP 32 bit and it worked fine...

Default Proposed Profile Editing Capability for CrackUtil

I have a suggestion for a new capability for CrackUtil. With the native software, profiles can only be edited / viewed on the phone. It would be very convenient if a utility function existed that could read the profiles from the phone, allow them to be edited with simple copy / paste functions, and written back to the phone. If writing back cannot be accomplished due to RIM's security, then editing is unnecessary, but the ability to view all the profile settings in a spreadsheet format would still be useful for figuring out why a profile isn't working as intended.

It does work on Vista. CrackUtil was developed under Vista 64 and I have run it on Vista 32 but I have since erased Vista from all my systems, and have gone back to XP - much better.

You are absolutely right Jeff. The ability to Backup, Edit and Restore Profiles. I am continually annoyed that DM does nt Backup and Restore Profiles. However I have been unsuccesful in doing this. There seems no way to make javaloader do this.

I would also like to be able to access Device Memory so that I can copy, move, erase files in Device Memory withut havinvg to use thate awful Roxio product. Again, I have made no progress.

Yours is a nice idea and I wish that I could implement it.

    Question Delete Log file

I just installed on my XP Pro 32-bit system - using a Storm 9530 w/.90 OS and the software installed and ran fine. For some reason, I can view the event log file but it will not delete it. I double checked w/JL Cmdr and it was still there. Tried multiple times but no luck. Any suggestions?

The event log is a system file that gets recreated as soon as you delete it. The new one will be smaller than the old one and will start with the current date. That's how you can tell you deleted it. It's typically pretty small anyway.

I did check that. The reason for my post is that when I delete the log file w/JL CMDR and then go back, the log file is gone/empty, but after trying it w/CrackUtil, the exact same log file is displaying (in both CrackUtil and in JL CMDR) so I can only conclude it is not actually being deleted by CrackUtil whereas it is being deleted when I use JL CMDR.

Given the facts you state, I'd come to the same conclusion. It's possible you've found the same bug in CrackUtil that's known to exist in CrackMem. Pete's identified the fix for CrackMem. See this post: http://forums.crackberry.com/f35/cra...ml#post1512591

If he doesn't see this thread and respond, you might PM him.

I am using an AT&T branded Bold. I've done a search and for the life of me I cannot figure out the file names for things I would like to remove from my device.

    -TTY
    -Voice Dialing
-PTT (I know it's in there somewhere)
    -Sample Pictures

Any ideas guys? I'd greatly appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.

Use CrackMem instead of CrackUtil. CrackMem already knows the names of the files. You can download it from my non-wap signature, or simply search for it. It'll be easy to find.

Yeah, I was thinking about CrackMem but I was hoping to avoid the full re-load of the OS. But I guess I'm going to have to go that route. Thank you for the quick answer. Very appreciated Jeff.

You don't necessarily have to reload. CrackMem can remove many modules without reloading the OS. Be sure to read the new Help files. They're very good.

I looked at the post you suggested and that folder was not even there. At this point I'll let Pete know since I'm not having any luck w/removing the event log when desired. Thanks for your help!

I have windows vista and I am having issues with accessing CrackUtil.zip. I did everything right from downloading it, right clicking it, going under properties--> Compatability and checked the box that says "Run this program as an administrator". After all that, I made sure my unlocked BB Storm is connected to my PC and that my desktop manager is not running but stll whenever I open CrackUtil.zip, after I go through the optional password window, the CrackUtil.zip main window will open for only a few seconds before another prompt will come up to let me know that my "password is incorrect or device not connected" and that I would have to restart the program. Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks..

Works perfect with my Bold on vista. Might be a storm issue?
