I think this happend back in March.
The Berryweather complimentary (until Dec. 31) says it's for OS 7. The link for compatibles shows the 9900. Clicking the barcode gives the AppWorld "UNAVAILABLE FOR this device."

Is this some kind of scam? (I did all the recommended searches for BeWeather Complimentary and BerryWeather Complimentary and found nothing.)

I think you are mistakenly combining 2 separate offers.
There were actually 2 instances of complimentary offers.
I believe the one you mention in March was offered for approximately 2 months and ended May 31st.

And, your profile states you have a 9700. Not an OS7 device...

I changed that passport thing and thought it ported over. Thanks for the heads up--I changed the profile. I have two 9900s on 7.1.

The current offer does end on December 31st; however the offer is said to be for Canada only.
Your current profile states your carrier is AT&T which is within the US.

The March 6th blog specifically said U.S. only. Clicking the link from Bla1ze, AppWorld makes no reference to restricted locations. Shame on 'em.

That page DOES specifically say:
Device, Carrier and Country Compatibility
This item is supported for your device.
That is a cut-and-paste.

And, I just bought two new 9900's and a Playbook 64GB. I guess loyalty sucks.
