My brother just bought a new blackberry curve 8530 with a data plan but when I try to download the App World from m.blackberry.com he gets an error message saying that the device doesn't meet the system requirements. Anyone know why this is happening?

He got it because he already has an iPod and wifi at home which would be a waste to get a full data plan for an 8530. Not even worth surfing the web on it. And plus $10 for the social data plan vs. $25 for 500 MB, since its an 8530 and not an OS6 device I thought it wouldn't be worth it to get the 500MB plan. i'll have to wait later till its activated and see if it works. If not is there anyother way to download app like fb?

Well, that's fine but he won't be able to use App World on that plan.
And there's no other way to download Facebook unless the "Check for Updates" option works in the app itself.
Ok everything works fine after the device was activated yesterday. Downloading and web browsing works fine on wifi which is what we expected. He's new to the bb world so I had to help him get everything up and running
