Can I download the new Facebook 1.0.8.49 without any problems? I know that the Troch came with the new blackberry but can we download this new one through the App World without Facebook being eliminated from Social Feeds?
Yes, it's fine. Social feeds is just a polling link (list) of the Facebook program updates. I updated to the new Facebook today and it works fine with social feeds.

Is your App World showing the new version? Mine still shows 1.7.0.18.

Just checked it on my App World and it's still showing the 1.7.0.18 as well. I downloaded the new one to my sister's phone and she has a BB 8310. Why isn't it on ours yet?
I downloaded and installed it and now it is telling me it is unable to connect to the Facebook server.

did you check to see if blackberry internet services are working correctly? i've had issues with BIS all day until i called up at&t and they registered me on the network
Interesting. I wasn't sure which version of FB I had on my Storm 2 and just checked. It was 1.7.0.22 which was newer that what some of you are reporting is currently on App World. I went ahead to check to see what version was available to me and I am currently downloading 1.8.0.49. The mysteries never end!
