All this talk about how much the bill is yadda yadda... why not tip on the service you received instead of how much the bill was?

I can rack up a $100+ bill at a restaurant, if the service was bad, you get tipped like your service was bad. If your service was good, you get tipped like your service was good. Excellent, tipped like it.

Who cares how much the bill was, tips are for service, not the bill amount.

So you'd tip $20, all depending on your bill, if your server only brought your drinks when you got there, took your order, brought your food, and took up your plates? Didn't even ask if you liked your food, or if you needed a refill on your drinks?

I guess you're right, to each his own.....
