I use iSkoot for Skype on my Verizon Storm. Works GREAT! (and it's free)

You can do the text chatting through the data connection, no problem.

You can initiate a Skype-to-Skype call from the app - it uses the phone to call a US number and connect you automatically. It doesn't cost anything but minutes (or none if it's a night/weekend). I called a friend on Germany and talked for 2 hours...for free.

You can't initiate a conference call but, you can be a part of one (Skype call someone and have them bring the 3rd party into the call).

If you want to be able to recieve a Skype call, THAT requires use of "Skype-Out" minutes...aka real money.

I tried them all...iSkoot is the best, hands down...no offense to Shape Services and their pay-app "IM+ for Skype".

Also, the app obviously works anywhere you have a Verizon connection...unlike the iPhone app, which requires you to be in an airport or a Starbucks.

that's weird.. i couldn't find blackberry storm when it comes to registering for iskoot.. please explain :T
