App Loader
I would uninstall the app and do a reinstall...I loaded it late last night and have been able to utilize it, but agreeing with the majority here...I do not believe you are missing too much.
Apps I've come across appear to be overpriced and the interface is a bit sub-par. - 04-01-2009, 07:18 PM #13

I had an issue all day long. I am on BES. I tried device wipe, which didn't work. I found the solution on another Crackberry.com thread.
Delete Desktop service book (not sure exactly which one, I forget) do a search. Options/Advanced/Service book.
It now works fine while I am still on the BES. By deleting this service book, it didn't affect anything on my phone. Still get email, sms, mms, etc.... - 04-01-2009, 07:53 PM #15
here was the post that fixed it for me

If you go into service books and delete Desktop [IPPP], then try App world again it will work!
For those of you who don't know go to Options>Advanced Options>Service Books, its its in there, good luck and happy surfing! - 04-02-2009, 08:00 AM

I deleted the Desktop IPPP Service Book and Blackberry App World did indeed start working. However, I am on a BES and my corporate Intranet was also removed by deleting that Service Book. So my guess is that the Blackberry App World was trying to use the wrong connection to the internet. It most likely got blocked by the corporate firewall.
I hope Blackberry fixes this bug so it uses the connections for the Default Internet Browser. - 04-03-2009, 08:57 AM #19
Solution here!!! Stopping guessing!
Good news everyone! We've identified the problem and we're expecting to have a fix for it soon.
There's a KB written up for the issue. Here's the link:

Can't connect to app wrld server
Hi,
I have the same problem, app world won't connect to the server. I wanted to try the option of deleting desktop IPPP, but when I look in options>Advanced>Servcebook, I don't see any desktop IPPP listed
.
Could it be listed with another name? Does anybody know this?
I don't dare uninstall App world cause acc. to the official BB site I shouldn't have this service in The Netherlands. Stangely enough though it does work, but only with the free apps. When I try to go thruogh the Paypal page I get that message that it is unable to connect to the app world server.
I am not on a BES by the way, so that can't be the problem either.Last edited by Dikkeluldriebier; 04-18-2009 at 09:02 AM.
