Just updated to Blackberry App World 3.1.1.21 and when I try to open it, it just hangs. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no success. Has anybody else had problems or found solutions? (Pearl 9105).
    Thanks

You mean I'm not the only one? I tried f**king everything to get AW to work and nothing I tried helped at all. It's completely useless. I'll have to do without it for the time being.

EDIT: You can go to http://rroyy.com/ota on your phone's browser to get the old(er) version back. I just did...

Yesterday tried a backup-wipe-restore. This put a really old version of app world on so I deleted and tried the new version again, Still didn't work and just hangs as before. I had originally tried to upgrade it by logging into app world on the pc with my id. Now when I log into this, the information is incorrect - it says that I only have 3 apps on the phone and I have a lot more than this. I have re-installed the previous version as suggested by Bobcat665 above so at least I have a working version at the moment. Other than this, don't know what to suggest.

similar issue here... the latest app world 3.1.1.21 installed just fine, but wouldn't start. i had to wipe my device to get an older version of app world that worked.

I was having problems on my 9800 at first too. I kept getting java script errors and hanging. I installed/uninstalled and pulled the batt at least a half dozen times before it finally took and appeared to work fine. Problem now is that my battery life is not nearly what it used to be. After unplugging it from charging all night, it makes it an hour with out touching it and the battery is half gone. I just uninstalled it again to see if how the batt life plays out.

I just downgraded it back to the previous version of the BB App World. Just log on to your phone's browser and type in RROYY - APPLICATIONS (like one of the comments earlier added).

I, for one, will not be upgrading it to the newest version until the freezing problem is fixed! It's not on! :

Exactly the same problem here on my 9100 3G with factory OS6. Upgraded from the previous version of BB App World to 3.1.1.21 and upon starting, it does not nothing, just hangs the icon tray. It doesn't even show me the licence agreement to accept!

Pressing the red end call button returns control back to the icon tray so at least it doesn't kill the handset stone cold dead.

    So far, I've tried:

    1. Battery pull with the handset off
    2. Battery pull with the handset on
    3. Reinstalling via older version of App World
    4. Reinstalling from the BB web site via the BB browser
    5. Reinstalling from the desktop manager

Nothing works, this new upgade is a dead duck for the Pearl as far as I'm concerned and it's damn shoddy that RIM have even allowed it to be released. Have downgraded back to the previous version that worked absolutely fine for me.

First time I've ever had an app on the Pearl that didn't work and I never thought it'd be one from RIM

Wow, thankfully I did not upgrade it yet.

I got burned a couple of times with upgrades or updates and since then I only update if I absolutely have to.

At the same time I believe BB is having more and more issues and is making even it's remaining last loyal customers run away.

    Very disappointing.

So I am here to express my disapointment about this update. It happend the same for me!!

I would like to know if this site RROYY - APPLICATIONS is safe. I think Blackberry should offer the solution!.

As WES51 says updates and upgrades are annoying because these kind of bugs!

I, personally, wouldn't recommend getting stuff from Beta Zone to just anyone but since I am a member there, I did check it out. The verdict? 3.1.2.20 is a pretty good version, actually. Since it's still a beta, you download it at your own risk...
