I am a new blackberry user on an At&t BB Curve 8310 and I downloaded the trial version of "Blackberry Alerts" from Handango.com. I have been experiencing an odd problem with it, it seems that my phone is alerting me of text messages when I am not getting any. It still alerts me when I do get texts, but sometimes it will randomly vibrate and flash the indicator light. The problem didn't start right away, it began the day after I downloaded the software which also coincided with me adding a blackberry internet plan and downloading the mobile IM client. I took the trial version off of my phone and it appears that it has stopped. Has anyone else had this problem, or know why it was doing that? Thank you in advance.

Update: I just received two texts in a row from 1111470500 saying "WVCI 1.1 1234567".... I have no idea why it is doing that..

Do you have "do not alert for sms intended for applications" (or something like that) checked in the menu? Those sound like application texts....
