is there a app for typing the name of a person when your in the phone selection. i know you can hold the send button and it will show your contacts. but thats all little to much. or is there a way that i can set it so i can just type in a name and hit send instead of going through my contacts. thanks

i just put contacts high up on the home menu, it only adds one button press for the contacts then another to bring up keyboard.

Pretty quick if ya ask me.

yea i was wondering this too, as a former Windows Mobile user the smart dial feature was very helpful, never had to open up contacts to dial a person, just started typing their name and the number display area would give u the option to select the name. Then all i had to do was select the name and then press send (dial). Wish bb had a smart dial feature.

I'm just used go the curves dial and call. I wonder if there is a way to do this. Anyone know of a better way?
