So after over two years of using my storm's video camera as a flash light, CB had a post about an awesome flashlight app called e-office flashlight. Believe me, that flashlight app is the best availabe, hands down. It uses the camera flash, but doesn't show the camera viewfinder screen, doesn't turn off when you change orientation, and is really just a nice and simple interface.

The trouble came in when I got the 9850, which I love, and couldn't install that app or download it from anywhere because the 9850 isn't listed as a compatible device.

In my mission to make sure the 9850 Forum perpetuates the expanding knowledge of the awesomeness of this phone, I'm posting a solution for this light. After doing that, the app will work as expected. Same beautifully simple interface, same great functionality.

I'm am attaching a link to the .cod file for the app. All you need to do is download the .cod file and install it to your 9850 using the "Install COD" function via bbsak (link to their site below).

    E-Office Flashlight COD file

BBSAK I encourage you to donate if you're able (I have nothing to do with these guys other than using their great product.)

    Cheers

NICE! I was just posting in another thread how this app worked on my 9850, but I didn't think to attach the .cod.

    Ebay

    Google Maps

    Google quick search

Bobaloo - would u consider renaming the thread to something like "OS6 .cods that work on the 9850? I thought this thread was an ad when I saw it....

I tried to change the title, but I'm not sure it worked. I'm posting from my phone right now. I'll try when I get back home if it didn't work.

I downloaded this app for my Storm I a while back and it never worked. When I bought my 9850, I transfered my apps over and the e-office flashlight now works great.

I used e-office flashlight for 30 seconds, then closed it and went immediately to camera. Took two photos (auto flash on), both were fine. Are you having issues?

    Works great! Thank you!!

Both Camera and Flashlight work just fine.

I'm running OS version 7.0.0.362 on my 9850 if that helps anyone.

On my Torch 9800 the camera won't run after using the flashlight.

    I have to do a battery-pull.
