I can help you out with this. At least 2 of Pooter's themes will apply certain fonts to some homescreen elements. I don't know what causes it, or why it's only certain fonts. But to get rid of it, you have to uninstall the font and do a battery pull.

EDIT: the other theme of Pooter's that does this is Rubus, FYI

Thank you! It's called "Progbot" by Divide-By-Zero. I almost skipped right over it, thinking it wouldn't look very good on the BB screen. But it's actually quite easy to read.
