    Sound Effects For Your BlackBerry.

The Sferical Team are pleased to announce the beta release of BBSfx for BlackBerry.

BBSfx is a sound effects application which currently features 20 sound effects ranging from sirens to laughter to funny phrases. But we need your help. As well as using the app and giving general feedback we need suggestoins on more sound effects to include. We estimate the number of sound effects in BBSfx can be doubled to around 40 and still only be around 1 MB to install ! Now that a lot of sounds !!

In return for your suggestions we're giving away 100 FREE copies of BBSfx when it goes on general release. All those who suggest a sound effect that we include will be entered in to a draw with 100 names chosen by random to receive a FREE copy. Just use the link in the BBSfx About screen to send them in. It's as simple as that.

Head on over to the download page from your favourite BlackBerry browser to get the latest beta version:

    BBSfx Beta

    Here's the lowdown:

    • Available for Bold 9000, Bold 9700, 85XX, Curve 8900, Tour, Storm, Storm 2

    • Play Sound Effects Over The Top Of Your Music

    • Just Click On The Sfx To Play
    • Delay Playback (Set It Up And Leave The Room For Added Fun)
    • Easy Links To Give Feedback And Request Support
    • Unique Color Scheme UI
    • Small Application Footprint (Considering The Number Of Sounds Included)

    Thanks,

    Sferical Team

Now it's up and running. Pretty cool. I sent in a suggestion. However, can we submit more than one suggestion to better the odds?

Just an FYI, installed this yesterday around 10:30 am with battery at 92% and with absolutely no usage I picked the phone up around 3:40 pm and showed battery level at 20%, with no usage prior to install I was averaging around 2-3.5% batt drain per hour, even with medium usage I still wouldn't hit the 20% mark until later in the evening 9-10 pm

Un-installed and am back to my average batt. drain

Hi Joel. What device and OS are you rocking? We haven't seen battery drain at all in our testing. The app doesn't run in the background or use resources when you're not using it so I'm confused as to why it mght be a battery drain.

Yeah, me too as I usually don't have any probs with most apps.

Storm 2 with full .607 OS, not hybrid.

So we've tested this on several version of 5.0 OS on 9500 and had no additional battery drain. Anyone else have battery drain they think may be down to BBSfx? If so, please device and OS.

    Thanks
