BB Newbie here again. To increase available memory on my Curve 8330 I was thinking about using the archive function in BB App World. Does this indeed save the app for me to use later?

Yes, it stores the code to enable it more quickly than the download. I tend to hide the archived app icon in a folder I have made on my BB as archived. Works for me....good luck
App World is a huge app & a real mem hog. I backup my apps using BBSAK. If I have to use App World to download an app, I delete App World right after I use it.
