Is there a setting or application that allows custom backlight settings per application?

It is annoying when my backlight goes out while reading an eBook via MobiPocket Reader or articles via Viigo. I usually have my timeout set to 20 secs so i don't waste battery, but have had to max the timeout while i read. I read daily from my bb, so it gets annoying having to max the settings multiple times a day.
