My friend and I both have bold 9780s on the same carrier and everything but his auto updates his apps like brick breaker and the preinstalled facebook and twitter apps it also auto updates the os is there an option I can change to get my phone to do this to? I was going through the phone menus but I couldn't find how to do it. Thanks any help is appreciated.

he is probably updating the OS and apps over-the-air.

options > device > software updates

for apps, they get updated through appworld. you will usually get notification of updates when they are pushed to the phone.
