Yes using your Blackberry ID it you could.

I thought you just have to sign in with the account and it will automatically be in the list. But you do have to check to see if app supports the new device/model.

If the app also works on the 9780, 9800 and newer, you should be fine. Always question the developer before buying by selecting Contact Support on the app's page. It helps avoid a purchase that will be incompatible with an upgraded/newer device.
