    Default apps question

Why are there so many more apps for iphone and android? Why are apps that are free for those not free for BB? Will this ever change ?

As much as I love BlackBerry, and have for years, the truth is this: developers need a richer environment to develop their products, and Android / iPhone OS offer a little more than RIM does. The shift has been in place for a couple of years, but BlackBerry's trying to get up to speed and get in the game at their own pace. Nobody knows for certain what the future holds, but remind yourself of the advantages to having a BlackBerry over an Android / iPhone device...

    ^^ agreed.

Also you must consider RIM has a mindset for their Blackberry devices more of a business smartphone and not a consumer toy like the iphone and android devices.

I think the shift is happening in the application world on blackberrys but it will take time and most likely qnx will be when the biggest shift occurs.
