Bb is connected to wifi network. Native browser works on wifi and can load pages etc. However none of my apps work.
Bolt, opera , Facebook 2.0 and twitter do not work on wifi. I have to do a battery pull for them to work. Then after a while the apps stop working on wifi even though I can still browse with the native app.
I am running 5.0.0.1067 and have wiped my phone twice.
I do not have a data plan.
Any clues?
To my understanding you have to have a data plan to gain access to BIS so you can access the internet and send, receive data. BB's have to go through the BIS.
I still have the same problem but it is less frequent now. My phone lasts for about 24hrs then the apps stop working. Then I have to reboot it.
For how long does the apps work on wifi on your phone?
Same thing happened to me. Twitter used to work over Wifi fine all the time. (I have no data plan). But a couple of weeks/months ago it would stop working even when wifi was connected and I would have to reboot my phone to get it to work. The time that this happens is not the same. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
Anyone know of a way to prevent having to reboot my phone almost daily to get my twitter to work over Wifi?
Blackberry Curve 8900, OS 5.0 Bundle 1626, Rogers, No Data Plan.
I read somewhere (can't recall where) that a previous version of App world was causing a conflict. I can't say for sure but try updating App world to the latest version.
I don't have to reboot my phone often now.
Also, I thought that this problem only occurred on the 8520, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Nope, I actually just updated App World yesterday and now it is happening more often. I've never had to restart it more than once a day, but now today I had to restart it twice.........
This issue is caused by a conflict in your BB time and network time. Set automatic update of time in your device an restart. Your apps would start working just fine with WiFi.
Let me know the success rate. This did help sort my issue.

Thanks. Now I know why it wasn't working. That always bothered me since it stopped working all of a sudden.
But I have a data plan now , so I can't say if your method works or not.
I suggest other users having this problem to try your method.
anybody find solution to this problem..??? please share...
I believe this is:

setting the time to automatic doesn't work. My time had been initially set on 'automatic' but I still have to restart/battery pull after certain amount of time on wifi.
i don't know if this is due to the time conflict but the apps stop working when ever the networking signals on my 9300 drop and then pick up again. if this keeps happening even restarting or battery pulls don't help. the apps stop working.
I had the same problem and i solved it by logging in to my routers ip (Default: 192.168.1.1) and then changing my timezone to my correct timezone. My router had been configured to a different timezone and maybe thats why it didn't work
