Was notified about the app world update to version .35 Friday night. Did the update and could never recover the app world icon. Checked on CB and BB website to see if anyone else was having the same problem. Have been deleting and installing this update the whole weekend, same result everytime. Finally went to my laptop, hooked up my phone to the desktop manager and was notified of several updates available. Did all the updates, new o.s and everything. Downloaded app world one last time and BANG, there it was. Opened and worked just fine. If you are having the same problem I was, I recommend trying this. Believe me I know how damn frustrating this problem was.

I've done the same thing...still no icon. DM shows current OS as 5.0.0.405 (with a downgrade option for version 5.0.0.296) along with the current App World version of 1.1.0.35. Still no icon for App World, though at least my prior installed apps are still there and functioning. Have also rebooted including a hard boot (battery removal) following the troubleshooting procedure on RIM's Blackberry Answer website (my post counts not high enough for the acutal link) www5.nohold.net/RIM/Loginr.aspx?pid=26&login=1&usertext=After%20upgrad ing%20BlackBerry%20App%20World,%20why%20don't%20I% 20find%20the%20App%20world%20ico%20in%20the%20appl ication%20folder?]BlackBerry]BlackBerry Answers: BlackBerry Bold 9700)

I've got a 9700 on AT&T's network. Individual research is good, but for a company with as good a reputation as RIM, it shouldn't be required for their very own Application Tool. It's not like it's published by a third party or worse, by Apple.

I updated to .586 version o.s. So not sure if that's why your still having problems.
