CB Kevin reported after attending the Blackberry summit recently that the Resource Monitor will be coming out as a built in system app in Future OS 7.1. Just like we got the battery saving mode and device analyzer.
That's a good edition and feels nice that us bold 9900 users are not being left in the lurch with bb os x in the fore front now. Whilst that's a good addition, I have my doubts whether it will really affect battery life in a Big way. So it'll be interesting to wait and watch for the future os 7.1 releases as to when it does come out and how much of Real substance it adds to the device.
this program is also supposed to reduce 'cpu' usage on what ever is draining it so agree we can all remember to close an app but what about programs running in background that perhaps you don't need or even don't know about?
either way anything that can retain battery like is a god send!
I hope it support module level tuning.
So if some individual module is acting bad it can be forced to sleep or kill...
A very welcomed feature...
Hurry up RIM
Battery life is not the issue. QC is the issue. I'm on my second 9900 (refurb), same battery. I get stellar battery life and did on the first as well. It started to reboot at random intervals is why the swap. This is independent of OS version. So loading the OS is going wrong for a lot of people, or there are a lot of bad batteries out there, or a lot of bad phones... If people with 9810s etc are not getting jacked up battery life, there was clearly an engineering fail with the 99xx.
