    I had another idea for a useful BB app that would estimate the remaining battery life. Something similar to a laptop computer. Is this this possible?

    Sure it's possible, it can be setup to see how fast you drained your first say 5% of battery. Then it could be placed into an algorithm that would calculate approximately how much time you have left. It would be just a guess at best though.
