Anyone successfully download the "FREE" Shazam Encore from Appworld??
I've been trying and trying and keep getting installation error.
I'm assuming its not OS7 compatible??
I do have the free version installed (2.5.2) but want this free upgraded version.
Seems that RIM didn't take OS7 into consideration when offering the free apps!! - 10-28-2011, 11:47 PM #2
Just installed and it even worked when I tested it.
Maybe try deleting the version you have, then downloading it again. Also, if the app wasn't compatible with your phone/OS then it wouldn't even show up in AppWorld. - 10-29-2011, 12:02 AM

Thanks ridesno159!!
Deleting the version I had allowed me to download the upgrade.
I also turn wifi off (not sure if that helped...) - 10-29-2011, 12:14 AM #4

Just downloaded it on my Verizon 9930. Works like a charm.
I have a lot of non-commercial/underground stuff that Shazam picked up on. Even the slightest little snippets were enough.
Great app! I've seen this app on other platforms and never knew it was out for BB until I saw it on the front page of CB. Awesome!

...yes it installed w/o a problem here, I'm still running the stock OS and it just asked me if I wanted to replace the free Shazam I'd already installed w/ this one. I did and it did!

It worked for me. I didn't have it installed before and it seems that may have been the problem. I did have to search for the app since it wasn't in the free section RIM made in App World.

I had to search "Shazam Encore" in app world and then download from there because the link that RIM provided did NOT work. Either way it is free...

Downloaded right from App World, in the complimentary app section, and it works great. I am pretty excited to have this. One app that I would use quite a bit, and now the pay version is free? I am a pretty happy guy this morning.

Yeah I got it, but got rid of it immediately. I am curious...why do all of the apps require you to give them access to all of your personal data? IE, email address, contacts, pictures, movies, music. I noticed that they all say that. Shazam was the worst in that it would not let me launch it unless I agreed to let it access my personal info.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that shazam had been updated to be compatible with OS7. I was a bit worried we'd be left out of this one...
