Poynt is great. The price on that app is for premium gas, it doesn't show the regular gas pricing but I normally subtract like 20 cents off what they show me.

Installed it and actually find it very cool. But I can only search restaurants, movies, people and businesses...There's nothing about gas prices there...

It looks like they have multiple versions (with the same version number) for different devices. Try this one that is for the 9700..I don't see why it wouldn't work on your Curve, but if it doesn't, you will need to uninstall this one, and reload the normal way.

Well, I don't understand why your gas prices aren't showing up..Strange indeed. Does your version have a spinning animation to switch between the different icons?

Yep, spinning animation w/icons, ppl, businesses, movies & restaurants. Weather at the bottom-ish and location on the top.

I'm on mobile so I can't see what country you are in but I think the gas prices in Poynt only works in the states. For me as soon as it realized I was in Canada it disappered.

The 8330 on vzw has the gps blocked....dosen't it? I know point won't work right on my sister's 8830...gas prices won't work with gps disabled..

Yeah, the updated Poynt is very good. It has a new UI. There's also an app called "Where". It's very similar to Poynt and tracks gas prices as well.

Actually Poynt should pick up the cell-site location on your sister's 8830 or you can manually set a location. Gas prices will work with gps disabled. Give it a try and let me know.
