im looking for a app that uses data instead of sms to send an i.m.
i called verizon today and they said if i send i.m.'s it takes from my sms allowance.

The apps provided (aim, msn, gtalk) use data. The rep was mistaken. Dumb phones use sms, these do not.

Try not to double post the exact same question. Especially when you've gotten answers in your other thread.

lol, did you get the Customer Service Reps employee number? There is no way to re-contact a specific call center employee.

The information you are getting not correct.

I use several IM applications and they all use BlackBerry Internet Service data. There is no SMS involved.

Fact is, I have SMS disabled in my firewall.

Maybe you could disable sms in your firewall and then try to send so it has to go a different route?

    Google Talk
    AOL
    MSN Messenger
    ICQ
And a host of Third Party / off-brand apps for consolidated IM-ing.

    Almost forgot about Yahoo.
