Has anyone had a problem getting AIM or Yahoo instant messenger to work on there 8830 via sprint? I can get google talk to work no problem but the other two don't work.

Does it give an error of some sort?

    Anyway, try JiveTalk!

you need service book for yahoo in you blackberry, the only way you can do this is if you have a back up form your old blackberry. you can simply transfer the service book in you 8830

I currently have both loaded on my 8830 and don't seem to have any problems.

Did you go directly to AOL and Yahoo from your phone browser? Try sending it from a PC through an email.

i had the same problem as everyone else except at first it said i had to activate aim . so i went to blackberyy.com/aim like it said and i downloaded it.

then it asked to reboot my phone. so it did and i thought FINALLY its gonna work.
But it said "service not enabled for this handheld"

what does that mean because i know i got unlimited we and texting so shouldnt that include AIM'????????????????

    please help
    i would really appreciate it.
