I have the following 3rd party apps installed on my Pearl 8130 and am about to switch to the Storm (Telus). The ones I absolutely cannot live without are:

The Weather Network and/or WeatherBug
Opera Mini
Yahoo! Messenger
Google Maps
Gmail client
Poynt
Facebook

Can someone confirm their (in)compatibility with the Storm?

All of those apps are compatible. People will argue whether they work well or not, but yes, there is a storm version of each of the apps you listed (Except if we're getting technical, Opera Mini, works just not completely with the sure press).
