Question Updating OS for the first time.

I'm updating the OS on my sister's Tour from 4.something to 5.something. She wants to keep all the emails, attachments, and BBM conversation on her BlackBerry as she needs them for work. Will updating the OS wipe her BB? If so can I just use Desktop Manager to back up everything and then restore it afterwards?

yes back everything up, and no an OS upgrade shouldn't remove your emails, attachments, ect (however, from a 4.7 or so to 5.0 is a major upgrade) When your using Apploader make sure you check off the correct box to save all your messages. Follow the link below my post and you shouldn't have any troubles. Good luck

No problem Just follow the directions closely and you shouldn't have a problem. Ask questions here if you have any, its always better safe than sorry.

Upgrade is complete. The instructions were very helpful. The process has changed a little bit (it said something about installing the new software, and then it asked about backing up the data which worried me at first) but everything seems to be working properly.
