Updated OS but no apps or contacts were reloaded

I updated my Curve 8530 to OS 5.0.0.1030.
After the update all my apps, contacts, and other data didn't get reloaded. Before I updated I did all the backups and things. I did a regular backup and a "switch device" backup. How do I put the "switch device" backup back into my phone?

Here's what to do to restore the Regular Backup;

Using DM5:
1. Run DM ( Desktop Manager )
2. Connect your BB via USB Cable and make sure it is identified by DM
3. On DM, Click on Backup and Restore
4. Click Restore and direct it to the backup file

Using DM6
1. Run DM ( Desktop Manager )
2. Connect your BB via USB Cable and make sure it is identified by DM
3. On DM, click on Device and select Restore
4. Direct it to the backup file and click Open
