Default Trouble updating to BB 5.0.0 Core App

I am BB Bold 9000 and AT&T. On my phone it says I am v5.0.0.822. I use Desktop Manager 6.0.1.18. When I open Desktop Manager and connect my phone, it tells me I need to update to BB 5.0.0 Core Applications 35.2MB.

The memory capacity status bar across the bottom of the Desktop Manager screen says I have exceeded available storage and have 124.5MB of App. Storage available.

I suspected that I needed to create some space to run this update so I deleted some of my apps (that I didn't really want to delete). I marked to delete:
Opera Mini 223KB
beyond411 141 KB
Google Maps 1.7 MB

But it still hasn't seemed to free up enough memory to make the update.

Also, it seems I am v5.0.0.822 (as opposed to the proposed update of v5.0.0.

Is this something I should even be trying to install? What will it gain me? I try to always stay current with these things. But I don't want to have to delete all the apps on my phone that I use almost every day.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!

Ok, I have at&t also but on an 8520. What I did last time to put the updated OS on is:downloaded the new os to my desktop (keep desktop manager closed, especially when you open and run the new software (it knows where to go) btw-after os is downloaded to desktop of puter I go ofline. Then after u go thru steps in the run software I,open the dm and connect blackberry. When u open apploader ther is an advanced button-click and u will see all ur core apps AND all ur 3rd party app. Check off each box that u want to keep. Good luck!

Thank you for your response! Where do I download the new OS from and how do I know I am downloading the correct one? I think I understand the rest of your instructions well enough to complete them.
Thank you!

I got the current OS software installed on my BB Bold 9000. I went to Cell Phones, Smartphones & Mobile Phones from BlackBerry.com and navigated to software support. There is had a screen where you could plug in your BB and it would check for the most current OS for your device. I followed the download instructions and the update went great! So my issue is resolved. Thank you for your help!
