Is it possible to use application loader WITHOUT updating your OS software version?

I am having problems with using OTA download for some applications and thus far have not been able to use desktop manager to update the applications as it always requires me to update my OS software and I cannot untick that option.

Why is that?

And is there anyway I can get round it?

I use 4.6 and i've used 5.0 before and hated it so vowed not to upgrade to it at all costs.

So trying to downgrade to a lower version of facebook when I only have desktop manager files and not an OTA version makes it impossible.

Are you sure the "Applications" are Compatable with your desired OS?

already tried app loader.

unfortunately it ticks the OS update and you can't untick as it's greyed out.. meaning if i want to add a certain app i HAVE to update the OS even if i dont want to.

very annoying.

Yeah i's compatible, cos i used it 2 weeks ago.. the new version of the app i dont like but am unable to revert back.

Try uninstalling the OS from your computer. That should do it

If i try to uninstall, it will show "BlackBerry Application Loader do not have blah..blah (I don't remember)"
Maybe you may uninstall, clean your registry, and install the OS you want to stay on the computer (If you use AppLoader and have installed 4.6.218 on your bb and the version in the computer is 4.6.4xx, it will upgrade. If on the computer you've installed 4.6.218, then you won't upgrade)
