OS operation - Modules loaded at startup and battery life
I have a question concerning how the blackberry OS boots and loads module files.
I tried finding some help through Google and crackberry.com by searching the forums but I cannot seem to find the info i'm looking for.
I wanting to know when the OS boots it appears it loads the modules set to load at startup. Some modules seem to just run and then disappear.... I've been using a few apps to see what processes are running the background of my blackberry. (deProcMan and Whats Running?)
Now if someone can point me to an article or post that explains this I'd be glad to read but just in case i'll ask my question here.
I've seen mention of removing unused library module files, (IE: foreign languages) but what about unused programs?
For example here are two programs I see listed in the program "Whats running?":
Pandora Module:"pandora$2dradio" Size: 540k [Set to run at startup, but not currently running or waiting]
SprintTV Module:"SprintTVAries Size: 1005k [Set to run on startup, but not currently running or waiting]
What exactly happens as far as the OS is concerned when it loads these files? Because it makes no sense to me as a computer repair technican that a file would load but then "not be running"?
As far as a computer is concerned if a file is loaded on startup it preforms a task and closes or continues to run in the background. These modules files don't seem like they would preform a task and then shut down, so why do they appear as "Not running or waiting" But as loaded at startup.
I'm looking at this from the standpoint of trying to extend battery life and want to know if removing these large unused modules files would have any affect?
