Os 5 NyTimes & Skype app error when one is opened

So these apps work fine by themselves but if one of the apps is open the other app won't open. For example if I start skype then move to the nytimes reader app I get an error that says "Uncaught exception: java.lang.ClassCastException"

Is anyone familiar with this error and how to fix it? I am using OS .975 as OS 6 does not work with group texting.
