Thanks a lot.. This really helped... Mine wasn't there in the location but you gave me but I did find it in another place when I searched C: drive for vendor.xml... This prevented me from installing latest official OS and I was wondering why after deleting one vendor.xml from apploader folder...

As I said the other. Day, I am on o2 and had the 296 verssion and did the SK upload and loaded the 353 and there was no issues at all. It just loaded and there was no issue with the xml file? I think the download via this website must have not had a xml in place. Do you think it all went through OK onto my device, it is working fine and just wondering if I might encounter problems as I did not need the vedor file?

In that case, try this:

1. Uninstall everything BlackBerry through Control Panel
2. Go to Program Files->Common Files->Research in Motion->AppLoader and empty it
3. Go to Program Files->Common Files->Research In Motion->Shared->Loader Files and delete any OS remains found there
4. Download, install, and use to clean the registry CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
5. Reboot the PC
6. Run Ccleaner again, just for craps and giggles
7. Install the OS again. You don't really have to install DM, but if you'd feel better you can. I'd recommend using version 4.6 found here
8. Search your PC and delete any vendor.xml you find, even if it's in the recycle bin
9. Repeat step 8
10. Go to Program Files->Common Files->Research in Motion->AppLoader->Loader.exe and try it again.
