How do you search Gmail inbox w/ the new Gmail plugin?

Just got the Gmail plugin on my Bold and i can't figure out how to search my gmail inbox (not just the emails already on the device).

this seems like a great feature (that's been covered in the blogs)...has anyone figure this out?

it's easy (on my 8900 at least), you just use the standard "search" option while in your GMAIL inbox on your device (NOT the general messages app!), then select "remote" instead of "local" in the search-type field...

Just tried the steps you provided. cant see an option to select "remote" instead of "local".

Local is not listed anywhere.

You may need to delete your Gmail account and the re-add it in order to remote search through Gmail. BlackBerry's website talks about deleting your previous Gmail account and then re-adding it again to begin using the "Gmail plug-in".
