Default Help??? OS would not install and locked up

My wife's phone is a Sprint 8530. The BB App World would not update and would lock the phone up whenever I tried to update App World and couldn't even log in. I did the battery out/in thing and manually uninstalled through Options, etc. When I reinstalled, same thing. Then, I hooked BB up to BB Desktop and had an upgrade to 5.0.10XX, something. During the upgrade process using the BB Desktop, everything locked up again. I'm sure if I unplug it at this point it may render the BB unusable. Is there a way to wipe everything off manually and install manually instead of going through BB Desktop?

The phone was purchased through Bestbuy and we have the blacktie warranty so this is last resort.

Any ideas, help, would be greatly appreciated. I'm not an expert but I consider myself pretty acclimated to BB's.

Regards,

Greg

What you can try is wipe the phone and reinstall the OS via loader.exe

Download and install BBSAK: BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife
Download and Install the BB 8530 OS from https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/D...28EEF268.node1

Hopefully you have a backup of the phone somewhere on the PC.

Plug your BB into the PC via USB
Run BBSAK and and select "wipe device"
After that has been completed, go to:
C:/ > Program Files (x86) > Common Files > Research in Motion > apploader
Delete vendor.xml and run loader.exe
It should go all the way through the process.

Default Fixed :) :) :)

Quote:
Connect your BlackBerry with your PC/Computer by using USB Cable.
Go to the website appworld.blackberry.com/webstore
Click on "Sign In" on the top right side.
Once successfully sign on it will take you to another page where you need to complete three steps and it will ask you all the steps to be done one by one.

1. Will ask you to click download to install BlackBerry plug in.
2. Once downloaded and install then will ask you to connect your BlackBerry with the Particular PIN number for your BlackBerry.
3. Will take you to the Payment option page.
4. Click on Pay with PayPal.
5. Verify your Paypal Credentials on next page.
6. Click on Approve on the bottom once login successfully on PayPal.
7. You will get the message you have successfully been approved.
8. Click on Return.

You are done and completed the sign up process for BlackBerry AppWorld ID.

Now disconnect your BlackBerry from the Computer.

In your BlackBerry Go to the AppWorld icon.
Once in the AppWorld and if already logged in then log out.
Now log back in again.

Try to download any FREE application just to check and you will no longer see the message not available to download.

I did a forum search and it seemed it was a either a Paypal problem or a combination between BB App World Plug In and Paypal. Regardless, I have fixed them problem with the the above information.

I am very thankful. This one was driving me nuts!!!!!!
