Default Flashing Blackberry Curve Firmware to Tour??

Hey Everyone I have a Virgin Mobile (Virgin Mobile uses Sprints Network) Blackberry Curve 8530, at First i really liked it but now it just seems weird to me. I cant help but think the word cheep creeps into my mind, my buddy has a really nice Tour i like the old style LED on it, I like it to be a little heavy, and i like the keyboard on it. I was wanting to know if there is anyway to maby flash Firmware from my curve to a tour or if i could configure the phone to get accepted onto Virgin Mobiles network.

Any help would be Great!

No you can not flash the curves firmware to the tour.
I don't know if sprint/virgin is GSM in the states, as I'm canadian. But if it is GSM you can just get a SIM card through virgin and put it in the tour, if it is unlocked that is.

No, you can not use a certain device specific OS on another device.
You won't be able to use a Tour either, so the 8530 is all you have.
I think VM used to let their users flash Sprint BBs over, but I don't think they allow that anymore.

VM uses Sprint's CDMA network, there's no SIM for that.

To the OP, the comments about shifting Curve's OS to the Tour are correct. Software from one device cannot go on another, even if the version numbers are the same. an OS must be sed on the device it is designated for.

If VM will not flash a Tour into their network, you're quite out of luck, unless you go to a regular network.

Hmmm didn't think u could flash os's from curves to tours, u don't think I could buy a tour and plug it up to my laptop and change the esn or anything, or is there a possibility I could flash a tour my self to vm?

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to change the ESN on a device, so no to that question.
Also, I don't think there's a way to flash it yourself.

Maybe go into a Sprint store, and ask about your Tour to VM situation.
See what they say.
