Default Downgrading back to OS5?

First off, I apologize if this is not the correct place to post this.

I'm using the Bold 9650.

I downloaded the leaked OS6 about a month ago. It has been giving me a lot of problems so I need to downgrade back to OS5.

I went into JL Commander and followed the instructions here... How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

No dice. So I followed the instructions here to load the loader.exe from here... What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

Still no dice. The app loader doesnt read USB:UNKNOWN. It keeps reading my pin#.

What do I do? I really need to downgrade. The OS6 freezes all my messaging and phone usage for hours at a time then comes back to life. I get a weird error message and it happens way too often.

If anyone can help, I'm desperate!

Thank you in advance.

1. Hopefully you've backed up all your data because you may need to do a wipe it. Use this program: [10/16/10] BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife v1.8.5 - PPCGeeks (much easier to use than JL commander IMO)

2. Once you've installed this, connect the handset and go to 'Misc' and then 'factory reset'.

3. Once you've done that, make sure you have the Blackberry Handheld software. Idk what carrier you have but 5.0.0.983 should suffice any 9650: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...882C05A5.node2

4. Once you've installed, make sure you remove the 'vendor.xml' After ALL of this is done, try loader.exe again

Use BBSAK as js said, it's much easier. Get it installed to your PC, install your new OS to your PC, in BBSAK click Wipe Device. Let your Bold Reboot to a white screen with "Error 507" and then in BBSAK click LOAD OS. Done.

Did this about 7 times Tuesday trying to figure out which app was leaking memory, and then hosing my OS completely.

The 6.0.0.280 is quite stable but your battery life will be decreased by about 50% and also the browser is not functioning fully but this release was certainly better than 6.0.0.222.... they're definitely getting closer!!. So to sum it up, if you want a fully functioning OS with maximum battery life and no bugs, stay with OS 5 until there is an official OS 6 release.

I downgraded with BB desktop manager and it was a breeze and worked perfectly. Just hooked it up, clicked the update option and it will tell you there are no updates available. Click on the previous versions button and if you previously backed up your phone with DM you can just click on a previous version.

I disagree with battery life. Mine's the best it's ever been. That's why it's always a YMMV thing when doing any upgrade. I do agree the browser seems not completely baked. Hoping for better with any "official" release. Time will tell.

I backed up my data, themes, and .cods, then followed these instructions (http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...l_cmder-53502/) followed by BlackBerry Handheld Software and BBSAK as suggested by others.

333 is a nice update from 280. Very snappy.

I agree with pc, 333 is snappier than 280. So far so good.
