Default DM says 5.0 is now available 8900

I'm already on a leaked release of 5.0.0.681 which is working ok I suppose. No complaints.

Do y'all recommend staying with what I have? Or going with this official 5.0 release (which DM keeps reminding me of, haha).

Decided to bite the bullet and get the update.

The official (for me, this one is TMobile) 5.0.0.822 was installed and appears to be fine.

The update appears to have been seamless and no data or apps were deleted.

One quick note/reminder:

Before any update, always take a backup of "stuff".

Today my contacts were all duplicated multiple times. Fortunately I had a backup (Outlook export file) and was able to kill and restore the personal address book on my desktop. Then did a one-way sync to the BlackBerry.

So in my case "stuff" above means Outlook contacts.

Theoretically the update process is supposed to backup your apps so if you trust that then I suppose apps don't need to be included in "stuff", especially since they can easily be re-installed (whereas rooting through a duplicated address book with thousands of entries is much more time-consuming).
