Displaying multi-line untimed events in calendar

I use my BB Bold 9700 to manage my to-do list as untimed events in the calendar. My previous (UK Vodafone) BB Bold 9700 would display all lines of a multi-line entry in the daily calendar view, but my new (US T-Mobile) BB Bold 9700 only displays the first line of an untimed calendar event -- this means I often have to open up the event to read the rest of it).

Both BB Bold 9700 are running OS5. The VF 9700 is running v5.0.0.862 (Platform 5.1.0.175), and the TMO 9700 is running v5.0.0.330 (Platform 5.1.0.91).

Please can anyone tell me:
1) Is there a user setting that controls display of multi-line calendar events?
2) Is it feasible for me to switch OS version to get back that ability?
