    Depends on price ,

Honestly feel this is gonna launch at 500-600 usd as it's a niche product and pkbs are expensive to manufacture,

    I'd wait it out.

No great rush to purchase as my Passport is still pretty excellent (even though I still can't back it up...) but very interested to see what the new phone is like.

The Priv was quickly available on secondhand websites new-in-box for hundreds cheaper, but I have a feeling this device will have a higher retention rate.

My answer should be obvious, but nope, gonna wait. No need to upgrade right now, still loving my PRIV, and I want to see how this will feel in my hands, anyways. I'll likely wait until the price drops.

I got the passport on the first day of availability in the UK and it was amazing until 2months and I had sim card issues, then I had screen lift issue and eventually it was replaced with this passport I am typing on now.

It was a bit of a bummer for me however that hasn't tinted my experience with this device or BlackBerry , so yes I would get it as soon as it comes out as I did have a pleasant experience with BlackBerry UK when I did have problems.

I'll most likely wait until I can upgrade which is about 6 months into 2017. That's of course if Verizon carries the device.

If I can figure out how to transfer my info from my Passport to the Mercury (I can't back up my Passport and link does not work) I will get it on release.

As much as I love the Passport I see that BB10 is done.

I think most that are in a position to upgrade, and are big fans of a PKB phone, and aren't still waiting for a BB10 phone..... will jump on it. If there are issues, that's what the return process is for.

Couldn't you get your service provider to help you? Anytime I have had a problem with things like transferring content or backing things up, I go into the service provider and ask them to help if they have time. They have always been delighted to play around with my Blackberries including the Classic and DTEK 50. Usually they are real whiz kids.

I like to start fresh when I get a new phone. All my email will sync when I add the new accounts, so really it's only the text messages that I have to do without. Luckily, most of my communication is over bbm and email.

I'll wait a few weeks to sort through the usual "it's a beast", "smooth as buttah" clichés and the expected whine and cheese to get to the objective reviews.
Then I'll say "what the heck" and buy it on Amazon for easy return if I don't like it.

A bit off-topic, but does anyone know where in Asia you can find new BlackBerrys? I'm looking to get Mercury on release day, but I'm not sure the best way to get it in Asia.

The day that the Mercury is available from shop.blackberry.com, I will buy one.

The day *after* the Mercury is available from shop.blackberry.com, I will start a (likely fruitless) search for Android software that replaces BlackBerry Blend.

Yah, doubt you'd find anything. It's too bad BB just let that die. They are a "software" company now but won't spend time to polish and maintain their signature software...

Yeah, this was my thought, as well. It's great that they are trying to differentiate their Android phones with 'security', but if they also had*Blend to offer, that would*definitely sweeten the pot.
