might be a stupid question according to the rumors before the physical keyboard device is a mid range device. is mercury really a mid range device or flagship because I dont have any idea on its specs

The expected spec is a Snapdragon 625; not flagship-level, more mid-range.

mid range usually refers to specs which is still what we assume the Mercury has. The design however is top notch it appears.

It will appeal to a few die hard PKB users, and go the way of the PRIV.

I agree. I used to swear by a PKB but now having used all touch for 3 years, I wouldn't go back to one.

I'm sure it's only the hard core that still want the PKB. Don't think there's many of them left now. Even my wife with arthritic fingers has now converted successfully.

If the price is good, and with the weight of TCL behind it, I would expect it to do much better than Priv.

Wow, good for you. I've been using an all-touch Android for some time now for work. Still use a pkb device as my daily driver because I prefer the keyboard shortcuts, one-button homescreen shortcuts/speed-dialing, and I value accuracy of my typing over raw speed. Although I'm pretty quick on it anyway. I can type on a pkb at full speed with little to no mistakes without even looking at the device at all. Something I can never say about the all-touch I'm forced to use...

I don't think I'd call myself a "die hard" whatever the hell that means anyway. I'm sure it's some polite way of saying "weird" or out of the ordinary by people who value being part of the majority.

Sure, people who went from keyboards to all-touch are "converts" and will never go back because they've seen the light.

Good for you! Although, there are also some, like me, who are not really "hard core" , but just prefer typing using a pkb, especially for long and formal emails.
And there's no one else who does pkb phones, so this is pretty much it for us! Nyehehe

agree on this one.. after my first BlackBerry device in 2014 (Q10). I find using pkb on long emails and conversation is less of a hassle
