I wish they would tell us how expensive this thing is gonna be. My guess would be the $400 to $500 range. Anything over wouldn't be worth it, IMO.

Gotta agree with the guy in the forum. If it's over 500, no deal.

Then you'll be out of luck.

    $499 minimum, $549 likely.

If it was bigger than the rumored 4.5ish size, I would understand. Something that small isn't worth over 500.

I would say the keyboard is worth more than extra screen real estate. I'm sure it would cost more to manufacture too.

Moto Z Play slab is $399 (same specs). $50 for the BlackBerry software. $50 for the keyboard. Minimum $499. Imo.

Hoping for an aggressive 399 at launch or 449 with some nice accessories (quickCharge charger, a cover or a dock..) 😉 More realistically though, it would cost at around 499 at launch I believe.. A not so common screen size and a keyboard are what are pushing up its price imo..

But not sure if that's good comparison. Motorola has Moto Z for $699 with snapdragon 820. Moto Z play is retail at $449. Motorola is charging premium price like Samsung or apple. Dtek60 is retail at $499 and that's $200 cheaper than Moto Z. If TCL is charging $499, that's actually premium price tag. No?
ZTE blade v8 pro just released for $230 and it has snapdragon 625. I think ZTE is as good as TCL IMO.

I believe moto Z play isn't just the normal slab. They must have included some extra cost for the whole mods technology.
    I'd say 449 isn't impossible.

Retail goes $699. Of course you can find cheaper vendors but same goes to DTEK60. I am talking about MSRP.

So it has to be a laptop you hold to your face while taking calls? I'm the opposite. If it was huge, clumsy, and ridiculous looking like these phablets you see, then it's a no for me...

I think price comparison should be based on MSRP. From my understanding, BlackBerry only get profit from software licensing so price shouldn't matter. TCL will make more money by charging premium price tag, not BlackBerry. Moto z play retail is $449 but you can buy them from other vendor for $350. Moto z play is most expensive smartphone with snapdragon 625. Name a phone that come close to Moto z play price range with snapdragon 625. Asus zenphone 3 is $180. If TCL wants to succeed, they need to be very aggressive on pricing.
