I think it has vastly different connotations depending on the individual.

To me, the word Mercury first makes me think of the element, and my first thoughts on that are "It's heavier than you think, and it's toxic even to touch." but then after that I remember it's also known as quicksilver, messenger of the gods, liquid at room temperature, and so on.

On the other hand, Mercury is still a better name than Priv or Dtek.

Nah, I'm sure they'll find something stupid to call it.

They turned Venice into Priv. Lol.

There's a difference between making someone who has one feel superior and making someone want to buy it. Most people want to feel that the device is made for them.

I think they absolutely should stick with Murcury! Everyone is calling it that already and they could market it as a phone named by fans.

IMO, it would be a smart marketing move, which means it would never happen if BlackBerry handled the marketing. "BlackBerry Marketing" is an oxymoron. Fortunately (?), the ball is in TCL's court, so we'll just have to continue to wait.....sigh....

I hope they call it that. Not sure if i actually love the name 'Mercury' or the fact that we have been calling it that for so long now that its become 'Normal'. I think I'm about about the same level of excitement for the launch of this device as i was for the PRIV. (10 / 10)

Love how I, and I'm sure others had this thought of Mercury being the messenger of the God's and hearing Steve from TLC say on the new Crackberry podcast that this was one of the theory s behind the Mercury name we are calling it thus far.

I am sure myself and others who have openly said about this theory were screaming with joy.... I know I was!.

Mercury is the perfect name for this device. It is the most powerful and efficient communication device, with the powerhouse BB keyboard and Android system offering a wide range of apps. Mercury sums up what this device is all about perfectly.
