    On the silver top bezel, there's a camera on the left, speaker in the center, a small hole, and a big black piece.

    Somebody who spotted the phone in the wild said in another thread that the LED notification light was the small hole. So what's the big black thing?

    Proximity sensor? The one the detects your head and turns off the screen when you call or taking calls?

    There's a camera, proximity sensor and LED for notifications; same as the Passport SE only in a different orientation.

    its not really that much bigger but because of the stupid silver bezel it stand out more than if it was all black

    The one on the Priv is about as big as the front camera. That would be a huge sensor if that's what it is.

    The size of the cutout for the sensor is for visual design balance not always because it has to be a certain size.

    It is quite possible there will be skins and cases that are all black, but to those who prefer a naked phone...unless you wish to paint it, SOL.

    I don't mind the phone having a two-tone look. Better than the boring all black in my opinion...

    You can always apply a paint job on that. Plenty of people do it nowadays to their phones. Its not cars-exclusive anymore.

    Its quite baffling to be honest. All their life they went with all black. Just because of the SE passport they thought its a good decision.

    As everyone else has already stated it's the proximity sensor.

    think the silver bezel looks hot, but I could see the request for an all black version. Maybe a gloss black on the frame and bezels??

    But again, it ought to be at least white&red, just like the DTEK 60. I truly hope it's going to be RGB, they cannot be that cheap if they're going to charge us with 500$!

    I think the silver top is nice. People who said they dislike the design seem to have forgotten that Passport has the same design and they love it on Passport, so why not show some love for Mercury?

    That's not really the same boat.

    The PP silver is all silver where that mercury seems to be a classic Black Berry but with just that silver part... (some sort of recycling to make the thing more cheaper?! ;p)

    I guess people would prefer an all black or an all silver versions.
